“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”
(Hebrews 11:1 KJV).
Faith reminds me of a muscle because it has to be exercised to grow. Everyone has been given a measure of faith at their salvation, but you’ll have to use your measure of faith so it will grow and mature into an immovable faith – one that can’ t be shaken.
An immovable faith is developed over time by stepping out and trusting Jesus as you walk by faith.
Sometimes you may feel like you’re blindfolded in life as you exercise your faith and learn to trust His voice. The only way to recognize His voice on this faith journey is by spending time with Jesus.
This relationship won’t just happen by accident – you’ll have to invest in it on purpose!
There are 3 main types of faith:
- Your faith,
- Their faith, and
- Radical faith.
YOUR FAITH
(Matthew 9:27-30 TPT)
27 As Jesus left the house, two blind men began following him, shouting out over and over, “Son of David, show us mercy and heal us!” 28 And they followed him right into the house where Jesus was staying.
So Jesus asked them, “Do you believe that I have the power to restore sight to your eyes?”
They replied, “Yes Lord, we believe!”
29 Then Jesus put his hands over their eyes and said, “You will have what your faith expects!” 30 And instantly their eyes opened—they could see!
This scripture really charges you to evaluate your faith.
Are you just asking for prayer or do you really believe that Jesus is able and willing to move your mountain?
So let me ask you:
- Do you believe that Jesus has the power to answer your prayers?
- If you’ve submitted your life to Jesus – Do you believe that you have the same power that raised Jesus from the dead on the inside of you?
- Does your faith expect what you’re asking for?
Be encouraged today to evaluate your faith and be willing to ask for forgiveness in any area in your mind and heart that are bound by doubt and fear. Then make your decision to exercise your faith, and walk in the resurrection power that can change your atmosphere and move mountains. Don’t over think it – it just starts with your YES.
THEIR FAITH
(Matthew 9:2-8 ESV)
2 “And behold, some people brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven.” 3 And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man is blaspheming.” 4 But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? 5 For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? 6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he then said to the paralytic—“Rise, pick up your bed and go home.” 7 And he rose and went home. 8 When the crowds saw it, they were afraid, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men.”
I love to read or hear about great faith. It encourages me to stand strong and dare to believe God at His Word.
I’ve heard Pastor Judy Jacobs preach about faith many times and say, “It’s like stepping out on nothing and landing on something.”
It’s one thing to have faith for yourself, but when you’re too weak or sick to fight for yourself – it might be your friends’ faith that stands in the gap for you. It might be their faith that’s willing to do whatever it takes to bring you to Jesus.
These men of faith had to be full of desperation and expectation as they approached the house where Jesus was teaching and realized there was no more room for them to get inside:
- They crawled on top of the house,
- Pulled their paralyzed friend on top of the roof,
- Then tore a hole in the roof of someone else’s home,
- Lowered their friend through the hole, and
- Ultimately interrupted Jesus preaching in the home… just to get their friend at the feet of Jesus.
What a display of great faith!!!
Who are you praying for today? Who are you desperately trying to lower through the roof? Well, I want to tell you that Jesus sees you today and is moved by your faith. Your sacrifice is not in vain so don’t give up!
RADICAL FAITH
(Matthew 14:24-32 TPT)
24 But the disciples, who were now in the middle of the lake, ran into trouble, for their boat was tossed about by the high winds and heavy seas.
25 At about four o’clock in the morning, Jesus came to them, walking on the waves! 26 When the disciples saw him walking on top of the water, they were terrified and screamed, “A ghost!”
27 Then Jesus said, “Be brave and don’t be afraid. I am here!”
28 Peter shouted out, “Lord, if it’s really you, then have me join you on the water!”
29 “Come and join me,” Jesus replied.
So Peter stepped out onto the water and began to walk toward Jesus. 30 But when he realized how high the waves were, he became frightened and started to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he cried out.
31 Jesus immediately stretched out his hand and lifted him up and said, “What little faith you have! Why would you let doubt win?”
32 And the very moment they both stepped into the boat, the raging wind ceased.
I can only imagine how pleased Jesus was with Peter’s faith. I loved that Peter asked to join Him on the raging waters. Peter was brave beyond comprehension and stepped out onto the waves of the storm and walked on water.
Now that’s radical faith.
This scripture shows that in every area of your life – you will need to keep your eyes on Jesus – but especially, when you’re walking on water. Yes, it is time again for you to step out of your boat and trust the Lord. Jesus is saying, “You were born to be a water-walker!”
Prophetic Word for you:
I declare and decree over you that you are destined to walk on water. You are destined to step out in faith and believe for the great and mighty in your life.
You are called to do great things and to make a difference in the lives of your family, friends and those in need in your community.
I see some of you with creative ideas and witty inventions that will cause a SHIFT. This shift will open doors and grant you access to the secrets in the economy of heaven.
You are called to walk in a radical faith that will please the heart of the Father and move His hand of provision, wisdom, and healing. There’s no weapon formed against you that shall prosper.
There’s a shaking taken place in your land, and I hear the rumbling of rocks as they tumble down from the mountains all around you. You shall not be moved. Your faith is solid and immovable.
These rocks represent fears and insecurities from your past that are trying to limit you in your future – they are just there to frighten you but they have no real power.
Keep your eyes on Jesus and refuse to let doubt win.
