When we were all children, we had such huge imaginations. We didn’t even know what a limit was and how it could be applied to our lives. We didn’t understand the value of a dollar or how fear could creep in and steal one dream at a time.
When you ask a small child what they want to be when they grow up, you hear the passion and creativity… I want to be a doctor, fireman, astronaut, superman, batman, actress, singer, preacher, teacher, etc. I love it, because it is in us to help, rescue, protect, save, heal, teach… just to do something BIG!
Now more than ever, we have to approach a child earlier and earlier to capture the innocence of a dream, because children are feeling the weight of the world at a much younger place and the enemy is rushing in and snatching the dream right out of their small hands and minds.
I want to encourage and challenge you to ask the Lord to take you back to that place when He first created you. You know, that intimate moment, when He was knitting you together in your mother’s womb. What was on His mind? What was His original intent? What was your purpose to be fulfilled on this earth? I am talking about WHY you have the gifts you have, strengths, hopes, passions, and compassion… they were and are ALL for a purpose.
My prayer for you today is that you can SEE that Dream again and BELIEVE it is not too late for you. Don’t let your purpose pass you by.
For you created my inmost being;
You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
(Psalm 139:13-16 NIV)
